Hello Dar community (Dar es Salaam)

Hi

I just moved to Dar (2 Jan). Already found a place to stay. When buying the basics today I was surprised how expensive the basics are (I admit that I went straight to Game and Mr Price... considering that Game and Mr Price are at the low end of the price range in SA).

I would appreciate any advice where to go for e.g. meat and fruit and vegies (I read somewhere that there are "local" place in the Oyster Bay area for fruit/vegies).

Also, does the Dar community meet on a regular basis like in other countries/cities??? What are the good pubs and restaurants (preferably Oyster Bay area) to go/meet people (you guys)???
