Security in Dar (Dar es Salaam)

Hello, Have scoped this site and am wondering if you could please share your thoughts on the security situation in Dar. My hubby and I will be moving over with 2 toddlers. He's lived in South Africa before so he thinks Dar is a piece of cake but some details about areas to live, where definitely not to go would be greatly appreciated. Probably will be looking at secured apartment complex to live in.
