Humanitarian Crisis Simulation at DU (Denver)

A Humanitarian Crisis Simulation exercise is taking place over Memorial Day weekend. It is sponsored by the Joseph Korbel School of International Studies Humanitarian Certificate Program at the University of Denver. And, I thought InterNations folks may be interested in volunteering.

DU students from the International Disaster Psychology Program, Josef Korbel School of International Studies, and Graduate School of Social work participate in the simulation. But, to make this as realistic as possible simulation possible, we need volunteer actors who would be playing parts like internally displaced persons (IDPs), government officials, international funders, etc. In the past, volunteers have often commented on how much they enjoyed their own experience as they watched DU students learn about what it might be like doing international work from a more intense perspective than they could ever get in a classroom setting.
