Neighbourhood Info Needed! (Doha)

Hi all, my first post here as I finally received concrete confirmation of my move to Doha this August! I've heard - unofficially - that the accommodation provided by my place of work is either in Umm Ghuwailina or Al Mansoura. I haven't really heard many good things about either of these places so was just wondering if you had any information for me?

Basically, just boring stuff like are they safe/are there local facilities (bars, shops, banks etc)/will I be likely to want to hop straight back on the plane when I see the place?! I am a 25 year old single lady who will be working as a teacher and would love some help on the matter.
