Social responsibility activities (Doha)

I had been thinking allot lately about how we may develop the InterNations community of Doha in order to generate more value out of the resources, skills and personal attributes of our community members and not to limit our activities to the one monthly social event where we all have great fun no doubt. I was rather hoping for more than that from our community here in Doha, perhaps more of a proactive approach in enriching both our own lives and the lives of others who may need our support and some of the ideas I was pondering upon were:

• Orphanage visits
• Hospital visits
• Special needs kids help
• Elderly home visits
• Animal Welfare
• Education Support for Needy kids and adults
• Etc

I was hoping to form a group for such and each activity which would be lead by a group leader on volunteer basis to carry out such activities once a week or as often as the group agrees.

Anyone interested in taking a leading role in this?

I am hoping that any of those social participation and social responsibility initiatives would be much appreciated and would be a great pay back method to this wonderful country and its people.
