Turtles - Fuwairit beach (Doha)

If you have never seem them before this is well worth the outing.

Qatar has a small turle rehabilitation/introduction programme happening at Fuwairit beach.

The turtles are currently hatching and there is about a weeks worth of nests left to go. You have to be down on the beach before sunset, look for the caravans, walk about 500m past the caravans and you will see the area closed off to protect the nests.

Just hang around and the guys involved in the project will come down and give you the yae or nae as to whether a nest will be hatching that night.

It is an awesome experience and likely not to be open to the public next year...so get down there if you can.
