Furniture: ship or repurchase? (Dominican Republic)

My family and I are planning to move from the US to the DR in August with plans to stay for 3 years. We are a family of 4 soon to be 5 (baby on the way). Any recommendations on shipping house and furniture items? Is it best to repurchase? We here most items have a 30% mark up.
