England + change? (Dortmund)

Hello,
I have just returned from visiting England. I was surprised at the amount of Americanism in the language and every day life. It appears to me that Americanism are taking over and the English-ness is slowly dying.
Using ones Surname in business emails is extremely rare and the replier uses just the first name as well.

Is it just me or is there a real change happening in England?

The BREXIT people seem to be blaming the EU on things that the EU doesn't have influence on.
