Coming to Dubai

Hello,

I am coming to Dubai in the end of August, beginning of September to participate in a seminar, and will have some free days. I am not sure whether there will be any internations events at this time, therefore I would be happy to get your advice on what to do during these days.

I am not a typical tourist. Actually, I do not want to see touristy things. I love arabic culture and would like to explore it more! I know a bit of arabic language (some basics + can read/write), and would enjoy having an opportunity to practice it with the locals. I know it is not a very easy task, taking into account that Dubai is very multicultural place, but I believe it is still managable.

So any advice/suggestion will be welcome!
