Immigration help please! Further stay in Dubai

Hi there!

I'm an Australian citizen coming to Dubai seeking employment... I will arrive an a visitor visa initially in early January... I understand that I must have a return flight booked to satisfy UAE immigration when entering Dubai, even if I am looking for work.. (?)

At the moment I only have a one way flight to Dubai..

Being on a low budget, my plan is to take the cheapest option and book a flight to Oman one month later, returning the same day... Is this possible and allowed? Is it an easy process to go to Oman and arrange for another visa to enter Dubai quickly in one day or would I need to stay for a day?

Hopefully I'm on the right track with this.. Any help would be much appreciated...
