Living in Ras al Khor (Dubai)

Could anyone give me some infomation on Ras Al Khor?
I might be living there in a few weeks time but cant seem to find any info on the area except wetlands and industry.
Is there any bars or shops around that area? Not so much discos etc but a pub or similar?
I appreciate any feedback.
