Moving to UAE (Dubai)

Hello all,

I am currently in Lusaka and am moving to UAE first week of November . I am now posted for a 2 year position in UAE. I would appreciate if you can give me some background info on the country, I will be staying in Dubai. Kindly tell me about safety issues, taxation, apartments, cars, cost of living, stuff to do and anything you think that would be useful for a newcomer.
