Pets while at work (Dubai)

I am thinking about having a pet nowadays. I am thinking about pussy or a little puppy but i never had one before and i dont know how good is the idea. So id like to ask for your opinion for who has one already can share with me the pros and cons about this.
If possible and ur travelling for few days id take care of ur pet. It would be matual benifit for all of us as ill take care of it while ya travel and ill know practically how to its to have a pet at home.
