Why has it been SO hard to find a job lately? (Dubai)

I know that this should probably be posted in the Jobs section, but honestly, there are more readers here, and I need a place to vent my frustration.

I have been in Dubai for almost 3 years now, and I am happy with my job - thankfully. However, my wife moved here a little over a year ago. She has been dedicated to job hunting since, and has had zero luck.

We both feel frustrated and every day I see her lose hope more and more. It's very sad, and I am not sure what to do about it. The initial excitement of moving to Dubai has faded away. Also, first year of marriage, which is supposed to be an amazing year, - and it was, was also full of stress due her not finding a job.

I am not here writing to ask for help. Nor am I trying to be overly dramatic. I think I've just reached a point where I need to write about this to absoute strangers, just for the sake of letting it out of my system.
