looking for public schools (Dublin)

i will be relocating to dublin in 6 to 8 weeks of time and looking for some help /info about public primary and pre primary schools for my daughter (born on 22nd dec, Protected content son (born on 3rd Sep, Protected content .... heard that its a big challenge to get into schools. is it true ? any help will be really appreciated
