timing for finding apartments (Dublin)

Hi,

Just got the job offer and waiting on work permit for Dublin, Northside, Blanchardstown Corporate Park.
How long are work permits (special skills) taking? I've been told Protected content . And, is it realistic to plan to be able to find an apartment within 2 weeks of arrival? Has to be biking/on busline as I do not intend to get a car. I am thinking of a sublet/short-term stay or even a hotel/hostel while I look but don't know how far in advance I need to be in country to find suitable place. Studio/1BR to 2BR max, just me, no pets. Thanks.
