Quick Hello (Duesseldorf)

My wife is originally from Germany and we may be relocating there next year.

I was wondering if anyone has any information on what I need to obtain my residence and work permits.

Additionally I was wondering if anyone knows of the best way to ship items from the US to Germany...... I am beginning to do the research now, so that come next year I will be prepared in case we do decide to move.
