Rosenmontag ( German Karneval ) ... (Duesseldorf)

Hey Guys,
can anyone tell us about " Rosenmontag " because i have heard that there is big Karneval in Düsseldorf and Köln in February but don't know which day exactly and for how long it lasts this Karneval !!
I'm interested to attend it if that is possible !!
