Tips for quick routes for learning German (Duesseldorf)

I am messaging from here in London, but with a girlfriend in Dusseldorf I am trying to move to and start a life with. I have been studying German for a little over a year and I am frustrated by the snails pace of the progress from the standard 'hobbyist' evening class. Does anyone have any suggestions for ways to pick up the essentials of German language quickly? More pointedly, is anyone aware of a language course over in Germany I can jump into in new remote Zoom learning world?
