Move to Edinburgh. Go without having found a job?

Hi all,

I am a 31 yo web designer who actually lives and works in Florence.
In my mind I have the idea of moving to Edinburgh next month in april.
I have not found a job yet, I think it's not easy if you are not already there.
How do you suggest to proceed? Should I stay here until I find a job that suits my skills or you think is better to move and look for a job once there?
What about flats?
