New Edinburgh Student Looking for contacts

Hello everyone,

I am going to be entering the University of Edinburgh next year as a sophomore. I am from and currently living in Chicago.

I am looking for any friends/contacts in the area. I currently know no one in the area and would like to meet some people before I leave my home completely for 3+ years.

I wanted to see the rest of Scotland/UK/Europe during my studies, so if there are any travel junkies out there, I would love to meet you. I would also like to work towards earning a Duke of Edinburgh (Gold) Award at some point over the next few years.

I love meeting new people, hanging out, seeing new things, traveling, and doing whatever. I will be studying Philosophy/English Literature. I want to be a writer of some sort.
