School Procedure for an 11 year old (Edinburgh)

Hello,

I am interested in learning more about the school system in Edinburgh. My daughter is 11 years old and currently studies in Group 7 in the Netherlands, though we are American.

Does Edinburgh track students as they do in the Netherlands? Are there formal requirements for the public school system? How does it all work?
