Real summer had not arrived yet in Paris when we held the June Newcomers' Event but we're not giving up hope! For the July event we're meeting at Café A, located in the former Récollets convent in the 10th arrondissement of Paris and close to the Gare de l'Est. It's an arty hangout mostly known by insiders because you have to go through a gate and walk across a courtyard lined with arcades to enter this exceptional place. The vast space is decorated with works by young Parisian artists, exhibitions are often held here during the summer. But the real plus of this bar is its secret garden protected from the street by a wall. In summer the garden is transformed into Plaza Havana, an urban village with a distinctive Cuban feel. Excellent for sipping a few cocktails while the sun goes down!
The best metro station for this pub is Gare de l'Est on line 4. Coming by car is... not really recommended in a city like Paris. Dress code: casual. Look for people wearing InterNations name tags! You are welcome as from 19:00. There is no entry fee for Newcomers' Events. Be aware though that many Parisian bars do not take cards for payments under 10 or 15 euros, so make sure to bring some cash money.
InterNations Events work with a guest list. Since ours is usually limited in size, please sign up only when you're sure to attend the event. Not able to come in the end? Please cancel your attendance as soon as possible, as this will allow other newcomers to seize a spot on the list. Also, feel free to bring your newcomers friends as well but make sure they register to InterNations first and then add their names to the event post.
Event date didn't match with your agenda? No worries, there will be another Newcomers' Event next month!
We look forward to meeting you all!
