If the weather is sunny, we would like to meet at 17:00 at Marinen, the green area by the river near Nidarosdomen Cathedral. This is a popular spot for outdoors activities such as BBQing, playing games or just relaxing with friends. To get here you can take a number of buses to Prinsen kinosenter bus stop and head down the path near Elgeseter Bridge to get to Marinen. So bring your blankets/stuff to sit on and frisbees, badminton or other games you might enjoy playing. If you would like to BBQ your dinner there you will need to bring a disposable grill as well as the food you want to prepare. It might be a good idea to bring refreshments you would like to enjoy while there, since there are no shops in the vicinity. We plan on staying there for about 3 hours if the weather allows it, before we move on to our backup venue.
However, if it's raining cats and dogs and it is 8 degrees outside like it has been lately, we do have a backup plan. Then there will be no outdoor event, and we will meet at Studentersamfundet across the bridge where we have a reservation at Lyche at 20:00. Samfundet, as it is called, is the round red building where students arrange most of their activities during the semester. It is also open for non-students. If you are meeting us there, the bus stop is called Studentersamfundet and is located right outside the building. Lyche is the bar/restaurant that you can find on the right side of the building where it has its own entrance.
If you are worried about finding us during this eventful event you can call or text your ambassadors at +47 463 70 967 (Maja) or +47 957 40 834 (Renate).
As you probably already know, please RSVP to the event by clicking the Attend Event button and feel free to invite your internationally-minded friends to be a part of the community after signing up on our website. Your response is important to us so we can organize things accordingly, and should you no longer be able to attend please cancel your attendance.
We hope you have had a wonderful summer with exciting travels and relaxing vacations. Classes are starting up again and the city is going back to its normal self with the return of the students.
We look forward to seeing you there!
