The "First Thursday" of every month, Station Drive Precinct, an industrial-turned-chic "new" Durban neighbourhood, turns into a party-zone come twilight time. The galleries, boutique stores, food outlets and drinking spots keep their doors open on this one night of the month. The "street party" kicks off at 18.00 and run through till about 20.30. Restaurants and bars stay open m-u-c-h later.

We will meet at "Fortune", a trendy coffee shop and cafe by day: turned party-central on this one night each month. "Fortune" is in Con Amore at 15a Station Drive and shares the ambience and space with what is an eclectic upscale store. Lounge on their sofas. Sit at their tables. It is like nothing else in Durban.

"Fortune" heats up the action on First Thursdays with a special menu and a full bar, beer on tap and wine by the glass (or bottle). We will have a "standing table" reserved for InterNations members in the "Fortune" dining area near where the warehouse doors open to the stars. (You'll see!) We will meet here and can hang out, eat, drink and chat here. Food and drinks to own account.

From here, you can go explore. There's always lots to see and do. Next door, at The Plant (where some of you likely do your fresh produce shopping on Sundays), events range from disco roller-skating to bands. "Fortune", which serves "fresh everything" (food from scratch), offers great meat and a vegetarian options. Outside you will find Korean street food, vegetarian wraps and curries, street salsa dancing (yes, you can join in), music, exhibitions and loads more.

First Thursday is always a surprise. There are venues to explore, shops to visit, pop-up exhibitions. "Fortune" has a book exchange (bring one, take one). Over on the north side (Con Amore and "Fortune" are on the south—Lion Match Factory side — of the funky U-shaped Station "Drive") is a distillery and a brewery. Can't do it all in one night — but no reason not to explore! Safe parking with security guards on Umgeni Road—right there. No long walk. See you for a happening time.

Update for this Thursday:
Pizzas, whiskey sours and DJ set by Weido at Fortune Coffee. (This is where we will have an Internations table set up. Come meet there. Come eat there. Head off from there to explore.)
Con Amore Home will have a Pavement Flea Market.
The Loading Bay at the entrance to Con Amore has an exhibition of Vintage and Remodeled Bikes! Some stock and spares will be for sale, and they look forward to chatting to you about your bike ideas...
Outside The Plant there will be salsa dancing with the Durban Red Salsa dance company. Pop-up shops. Korean street BBQ. Lots more.
