Common to all cultures and times, we enrich ourselves through education and intellectual pursuit. In all its different shapes and forms.

Where do you place different cultural perspectives in this pursuit?
What is your own intellectual leaning? How is it connected (or not) to your cultural background?

Let’s meet and talk! Our guest speaker is filmmaker Juul van der Laan. She opens up a conversation with you in light of a new feature film she is creating.

We draw inspiration from the late philosopher Sophie Oluwole. A rediscovery of a classical Nigerian (Yoruba) philosopher, contemporary to the Western father of philosophy: Socrates. Which tickles your curiosity for sub-Saharan Africa’s history in philosophy. She wonders why today’s concept of “Philosophy” is used as a synonym for traditions in Western philosophy.

In this guided interactive session we’ll open the floor to your personal experiences, feelings and views.

We’ll explore how critical thinking can conquer all. (See the word-play on love conquers all ; ) Whether on a community level - or within yourself.
