InterNations Philadelphia Official Event @ Boxers Trail
Your health is important to us!
We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in all our communities around the world and, according to local authorities, certain in-person activities are permitted in your community. Please make sure to follow the latest official health guidelines and restrictions in your area. We hope you stay safe and enjoy the event!
For our 1st official event of 2021, we are starting with an outdoor hike in Fairmount Park that will allow us to be social with other members safely (with social distancing and mask), enjoy being outside and also do some exercise!!
We will hike the famous Boxers Trail which is 4 miles and connects the Smith Memorial Playground to the historic mansions of Fairmount Park and the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood with nice views of the Schuylkill River. This wooded trail is named in honor of boxing champions like Joe Frazier (the real Rocky of Philadelphia!!) who trained there in the last century.
As an easy starting point we will meet in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art at the bottom of the steps between 1:45PM and 2PM (try to arrive earlier to be on time). From the Museum of Art we will walk together for about 30 minutes on Kelly Drive to the beginning of Boxers Trail which is on Fountain Green Drive.
Following current official guidelines and to keep everyone safe, all guests will be expected to:
- stay 6 feet apart
- wear a mask at all times
This event is limited to 20 guests on a first-come first-served basis. Please RSVP only if you are seriously planning to attend and please cancel your confirmed attendance if you can not make it. Sneakers or hiking shoes are recommended (and don't forget your mask!!).
Rain Date: Sunday February 28th @ 2PM
Looking forward to meet you or see you again!!
