Your health is important to us!
We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in all our communities around the world and, according to local authorities, certain in-person activities are permitted in your community. Please make sure to follow the latest official health guidelines and restrictions in your area. We hope you stay safe and enjoy the event!
We would like to invite you to celebrate earth day with us on April 22nd! It will be an after work hours event in the biggest park in Raleigh, which is Umstead park. We will meet by the table at the lake named "Umstead park Lake". I will propose you two meeting points.
First meeting point will be at 5pm sharp at the Umstead visitor center, address is 8801 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27617 : (GPS coordinates 35.880795, -78.758324). Please be on time as I will not be able to wait for later arrivals. It will provide us, the first group to do a short hike (30min or less) through umstead before joining the rest of the group. If you are planning to do the hike, send a private message to Ondine, so that I will know how many people I will need to be looking for prior the hike.
Second meeting point will be after 5:30pm for everyone else who wants to meet without breaking a sweat (hike), there is a parking lot only a few minutes from our meeting point that the second group will be able to park at. The name of the parking is "Parking for Potts Branch and Sycamore trails" at Unnamed Road, Raleigh, NC 27617 (GPS coordinate 35.872123, -78.761210). Please just keep driving till the end, the parking is a cul de sac, you will not be able to miss it.
You are welcome to bring any beverage, drinks and food you want to share. Please keep in mind that for earth day we will avoid using plastic or single use items.
If it is your first time in umstead, use the GPS coordinate :)
