private health insurance (Florence)

Hi all,
I recently started working in Florence and am now struggling to find a health insurance solution. For some complicated reasons I need to look into finding a private insurance. Could anyone recommend a health insurance that has the same coverage (or better) than the Italian National Health Services?
I also read some place that Italian private health insurer can sometimes be rather eager to find excuses not to reimburse expenses in any given case. Does anyone have experiences with that?
