Recently I have visited an interesting Exhibition at the Archäologisches Museum. It is called "Bearcult and the Magic of the Shamans. The rituals of early hunters.
At the dawn of time, man and beast lived in close symbiosis. From the hunters and gatherers of the Palaeolithic era, through to the Siberian and Sami peoples of modern times, animals are viewed as man's alter ego, with related form and identity. "Shamans" acted as medium and interpreter between Man and Beast, and equally, between this world and the next." The exhibition was created in close co-operation with the Stiftung Neanderthal Museum in Mettmann and the Reiss-Engelhorn museum in Mannheim. Visits are possible until 28th March Protected content .
