Birth rights of last name (Frankfurt)

I am US citizen and Peruvian citizen that has a baby who was just born in Germany. The mother (a German national) wants to put her last name on the child. We are not married. Do I loose any right in saying what the last name of the child is going to have?. Any lawyers out there?
