how life is in Mainz? (Frankfurt)

hi,

I planned to move to Germany next year. Before I was all thinking about Berlin, or other big cities, but now i could get a job offer/internship in mainz. Have no clue about life style in Mainz as i have never been to Europe yet. I live in Beijing now, air for sure is heavily polluted, but the city also offers a lot - interesting events on all the time and easy to meet and make new friends.
