I'm planning to spend some time in Germany next winter/spring after retiring from my job in the US at the end of this year. Friends there have suggested that they know of a part-time independent contractor job teaching English (requires a native English speaker) which is likely to be available. If I get an official offer for this job, would it likely be enough for me to get a work permit and residency visa at least for the duration of the contract...probably 2 months? By the time that gig started my 90-days on the tourist visa will have run out. I will be staying with my friends at least for a while, so presumably, I would have an address. I should add that I'll have retirement income, so am not counting on living on what I earn.
