Moving a family to Freiburg

Hi All,
We are a family of four and planning to move to the Freiburg area in the near future. Our jobs are in Basel, but we would like to stay in Germany, and send our kids to German school. Could someone advise where would be a good area to live with a close connection to the train system, and good schooling for children.
