Summer of '79 (Gaborone)

The Summer of '79 is a musical journey ten years on from the original summer of '69 which performed to massive acclaim in Protected content . Original brainchild of Richard Coughlan this live musical show has been steered to life for another year by stage director Sharon Dutton and helped along by its musical director Leroy Nyoni.

It’s a live musical show with some theatre thrown in that promises to quite literally rock you. If you’re into Motown, Disco, Funk or just simple good old Rock and Pop then this show is for you. With appearances from the Temptations, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Kansas, Journey, Prince to mention a few this show is packed with trips down memory lane, old high school dances and music on the old 45.

The show runs, for two nights on two weekends consecutively – the weekends of Friday 21st & Saturday 22nd October and Friday 28th & Saturday 29th October. Hosted by the Grand Palm in partnership with Capital Bank at the hotel gardens, and the show kicks off at 7:30pm.

Ticket price includes food (a chicken or steak roll and some salad) and the setting is relaxed and laid back, so bring your picnic blankets, pillows and chairs to sit out under the stars and enjoy the soothing sounds of the Summer of '79. A cash bar will be supplying drinks.

Tickets are available through Protected content via booking and EFT payment. If you don’t yet have your ticket to ride, now is the time as there are only a limited number of tickets available.
