Children’s books for Syrian/Iraqi refugees (Geneva)

Hi there, I am the author and illustrator of 5 children’s books written in Arabic/English and Kurdish/Arabic/English with the Kitabna ( Protected content ) initiative for refugee children who are living in or have lived in the refugee camps of Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraqi Kurdistan. I spent a year in Lebanon developing the books, illustrated stories which aim to create dignity in the stigmatized refugee camp environment and home-learning tools for children without access to education. In Lebanon we have distributed the books widely in the camps on the Syrian border, independently and with the sales of books to UNHCR, the NRC, World Vision and the IRC. I have recently returned from further distributions and teacher trainings in the refugee camps of Iraq, Jordan, and France (Calais).

Does anyone know of any schools, NGOs or organisations here in Geneva that might be interested in using the books in the Switzerland/France region?

French and German translations of some texts are available.

I’m open to new ways of expanding the project here in Europe.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or interest.
Helen
