First days: what to do and see in Geneva?

Dear Everybody!

Very soon, already this Sunday, I will be arriving to Geneva for an internship. It looks however like there will be some holidays that week and i will have more than one free day:) I would really appreciate some advice from the locals on what to do and see in Geneva. I will be staying for some time so some thoughts on the places outside of Geneva would also be nice. Anyway, I will be happy if you could share whatever ideas you have on this matter :)
