Studying Belgian Dutch/High school in Belgium (Gent)

Hey guys! My family moved to Ghent recently and we've been struggling to figure out how to start studying the local language since we cannot find textbooks or audio materials. People say that it's like Dutch but the pronunciation is different so I was wondering whether you could give me some advice about that :) And also -- can anyone share what was their experience with local school integration and how long it usually takes+how long did it take the child to pick up the language?
