"Abandoning friends in your home country " (Gothenburg)

Hi all ,
I'm experiencing pangs of guilt about my friends back in England. I'm looking at the opportunity to stay significantly longer in Gothenburg, and I suddenly started thinking about my old friends back in London . I came here for a better quality of life, and because my career was going nowhere interesting. I had an excellent friendship network in London , and now I'm feeling very disloyal to them . It's inevitable that their lives will move on without me to a certain extent, and it feels like I sent a message to them that their friendship wasn't important to me if I could just fly away to another country. I'm sure this is a typical feeling among expats with good friends in their country of origin, and I wondered if anyone had any thoughts, or strategies for dealing with this situation
