Opening anAustrian Bank account (Graz)

My voyage of discovery continued today when I opened an Austrian bank account! :) I have to say that the procedure was so simple it made Italy, Ireland or England positively bureacratic! All I needed was a passport (or national ID card) and that was it! You don't need 3 utility bills, references, residence certificates, proof of address. The only anti-money-laundering question was, "Are you a politician?"!

The bank even offered me a cup of coffee while I waited! The girl attending to me, spoke fluent English. The account documents were in English too.

The good news was, that I could immediately make an european bank transfer from the acoount paying 1 euro only! I'm impressed!
