Moving to Grenoble - August / September

Hi,

I have just been offered a job in the Polygone scientifique and I would like to gather a little bit of information before I decide to move.

I currently live in England (UK), so it is quite a big move from me (I am originally from Barcelona but moved to the UK ten years ago) and I want to be sure that I make the right move.

How is life in Grenoble?
Is there a bit of social life?
Good cultural activities?
Theatres? Ballet? Opera?
Concerts? A good gig scene?
Good bars and night clubs?
Good hiking opportunities I guess?

I really do not know what to expect living in Grenoble which is around 2 or three times smaller than the current place where I live. I am still fairly young Protected content I want to have fun.
