Any postgraduate students? New to Guangzhou

Hello all, I will be moving to Guangzhou to undertake 1 year postgraduate research at the Chinese Academy of Sciences from the 18th, just wondering if there are any other students both national/international around?

Would like to gain some information on student life i.e. socially (day/nightlife). As I have only decided in the last few weeks to move to China!! and know none of the language, I would like to gain information on how life would be like as a research student.
