New in Guangzhou/ Xintang

Hello everyone,

My name is Nathan and I'm from France.
I will be arriving in Guangzhou next friday for a one year period and will be working and living at the Phoenix hotel in Xintang, is there some people who know this area ? is there some restaurant, bars, malls in this area ? or will I have to go to guangzhou ?
Also, is there some bars or clubs where I can meet some expats ? it's the first time I'm going there and I don't know everyone, so please give the best address where to go.
