Studying in Guangzhou

Hey guys! I just arrived by myself here in Guangzhou last friday, i'm staying at a University here for the semester. It is my first time here, and boy let me tell you all that the culture shock is definitly real!! I thought there would have been more of an international community at the university i'm staying at - there are some spaniards (but they're doing their own thing) and the koreans that i've met speak very few english ahha.

Any tips? I know this is barely the beginning, and that it will take a while for me to adapt. I just want to feel more at home.. haha.

Has anyone been in a similar situation?
