Retirement move (Guayaquil)

My wife and I are new to this site and the whole idea of overseas retirement. We were made aware of the possibilities of Ecuador through a friend of a friend who relocated to Ecuador around 3 years ago and has been very pleased with the move. We've done much internet research over the last few weeks and would like to "talk" to others who have made the move. We'd like to verify what we've read and have other questions for which we are seeking answers. We have another couple interested in seriously looking into retiring to Ecuador. We plan to make a Protected content visit to Ecuador in March of Protected content . Based on our research, Cuenca seems to fit us best but we are open to other areas. We would really like to meet some expats during our visit. We look forward to any replies.
