Expat Experiences

As you may have noticed browsing through our many featured blogs from all over the globe, there is something about expat life that makes us want to share our thoughts and feelings, and maybe even put something into words that others could not express as eloquently, but which resonates with them.

In this section of our Expat Magazine, we invite all of our members to do just that. There are a myriad of facets to expat life which warrant being voiced and shared, ranging from the deeply personal to the practical – and, at times, just plain funny. Anything that pertains to life abroad is welcome here. Many of your fellow InterNations members have already taken the initiative and shared their experiences with the rest of us.

Knowing the Facts Is Just Half the Task

Of course, getting prepared thoroughly by gathering all the facts you can get on your new home before venturing abroad and bringing some light into the uncertainty of what awaits you is a vital part of the pre-departure period. But just as important, particularly for first-time expats and newcomers, is getting an idea of what expat life entails beyond the plain facts. Reading through the experiences other expatriates made can help you soften the blow of finding yourself in entirely new surroundings.
