The Series returns to Hamburg for the third time. The arena provides a combination of strong tides, shifty wind conditions and passing traffic that really keeps to the sailors on their toes. The Hamburg arena is over Protected content old and is one of the Extreme Sailing Series’ smallest, despite the port being the second largest in Europe, meaning tight turns and nifty overtakes, which makes for a thrilling viewing experience.

Racing is set against the impressive industrial backdrop of the newly regenerated HafenCity area on the River Elbe and fans can take a seat in front of the Unilever building to get the best view of the action. The free entry public Race Village is located at the Hamburg Cruise Center HafenCity (Chicagokai), and offers a range of on shore entertainment to complement the on water action.

The Flying Phantom Series will take flight for the third time this season following events in Madeira Islands and Barcelona. Find out more about the high-speed two man catamarans, including the current Protected content standings.

The event will see a range of activities both on and off the water to complement the GC32 Stadium Racing. These will include food and drink stalls, a Land Rover Experience Zones, an SAP virtual reality experience and the official Zhik merchandise shop. There will also be activities inside the free entry HafenCity Cruise Terminal, includeing Peace Out Yoga, On Stage dance workshops, CrossFit sessions, the Budvar lounge, exhibitions by the HafenCity Universität Hamburg and more.

You can explore Hamburg’s historical harbour by taking a boat tour, strolling along the waterfront or hiring a bike, and be sure to sample the excellent German cuisine in one of the many waterfront cafes and restaurants. Over 2,300 bridges cross the many streams, rivers and canals that run through the city – more than London, Amsterdam and Venice combined.
