Dekeyser&Friends is a Swiss Foundation founded in Protected content Bobby Dekeyser and Florian Hoffmann, which strives to create educational platforms. It aims to foster encounters between different cultures, different ages and social strata by bringing young people from various backgrounds together with distinguished “Friends”. Leading artists, entrepreneurs, educators, and athletes are able to pass on their experience through a common activity and achievement – a Dekeyser&Friends Project. For this cause, the Dekeyser&Friends Academy initiates and implements projects with focal points on culture, development, the arts, sports and start-ups. Communicating the efforts and the unique educational concept of the D&F Academy, as well as the work of our students and our Friends is central to the success of the Dekeyser&Friends Foundation. The activities of the Dekeyser&Friends Foundation, and more specifically the D&F Academy, aim to inspire young people all around the world to learn and follow their own ideas, thereby creating positive social change. The D&F Academy seeks a Communications Officer who will use a variety of tools to successfully communicate and advocate our innovative educational mission in a creative, efficient and fun way.
The Communications Officer handles a variety of tasks for Dekeyser&Friends. S/he is responsible for the marketing of all educational programs to young people around the world. S/he is also responsible for informing the general public about our work through a variety of channels, including our websites, social media, newsletters and events. The work also includes the communication of our educational vision to the public through text, film and other media. Additionally, the Communications Officer is responsible for the production of materials essential for all educational programs and the communication with speakers and experts. Filling a diverse and challenging position, Communications Officer will fulfill tasks that are key to making the educational activities of the Dekeyser&Friends Foundation visible to the outside world and share our vision with relevant networks, the press and potential partners.
Next to an excellent level of German and English in speaking and writing, a master’s degree (or equivalent professional experience) and relevant experience in marketing, website management, social media and communications, the applicant should possess an entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to work closely in an international team.
The applicant should be highly motivated, creative, willing to learn new skills, and to work in an international environment. Good communication, time management and networking skills are essential to fulfill the variety of tasks that go along with the position.
A successful candidate will have practical experience (minimum 3 years) in one of the following areas:
- Marketing and communications management for NGOs or educational institutions
- Communications strategy consulting, online and via other channels
- Creative communication, campaigning and networking for a cause, a party, a business or an NGO.
Furthermore a successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to:
- Achieve results when working with people from highly diverse cultural backgrounds
- Plan and manage a variety of long term and short term projects
- Supervise projects as well as enjoy implementing them directly.
Lastly, the candidate will be strongly motivated to communicate an educational platform that aims at inspiring young people to learn and follow their own ideas. At the core of a new idea of learning, the candidate has the potential to be the ambassador of these ideas and communicate them through a variety of channels with professionalism, esprit, and joy.
