Mechanic looking for work (and to learn german) (Hannover)

Hello all, my name is Seth and I've lived in Hannover for just about 6 months now. I was a General Motors certified automotive technician in the U.S. For about 6 years. I moved here with my german wife for her family and so she can start work also. Anyway I'm about to finish my B1 integration course and I'm a little disappointed at what B1 level entails. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on what best to do to further my language skills with B2 and so on. I gotta say, finding work here without speaking german isn't easy, but then again I thought I could find an American auto shop or work for Opel or something. Anyway, if someone knows of and/or hears of something let me know. Thanks all!
