Visa from Australia (Hanoi)

Hi,
My husband, daughter and I are coming to Vietnam in January. We have planned a 1 month South to North holiday and then wish to stay for a while for my husband to find TEFL work... I am very confused about Visas, as have seen a lot of different information online!
We have one way flights to Ho Chi Minh City and were wanting 3 month multiple entry Visas - is this possible anymore? I read somewhere that Visa rules are changing October Protected content ...
We would be very grateful for any clarifying information!
